A 17 year old Grande Prairie girl will be heading to Chile for a special opportunity earned through the Grande Prairie Army Cadets. Master Warrant Officer Clarissa Stoffleson has been selected to go to the 2017 Army Cadet International Expedition.
“You have to put in a lot work towards your physical capabilities like getting your fitness levels up. You have to keep good standings in all of your expeditions up until now.”
Most recently, she took part in a Yukon paddle trip as her 2016 regional expedition.
In Chile, Stoffleson will take part in sea kayaking, hiking, and cultural activities.
“I am definitely looking forward to seeing the different landscapes and the hiking portion.”
She is the only one chosen from across Alberta to take part. The expedition takes place from February 6th to 25th, 2017.
