UPDATE: Missing man involved in crash near Manning

UPDATE: Grande Prairie RCMP have confirmed that James Hickey was involved in a crash in Manning. He was taken to hospital for observations and is now longer considered missing.

The RCMP would like to advise that James HICKEY has been located safe. Police learned that HICKEY was involved in a motor vehicle collision near Manning, Alberta and was subsequently transported to the hospital for observations. Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.

RCMP are looking for a man who didn’t make it to Peace River as expected. 62 year old James Hickey last spoke to his family around 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd.

He said he was an hour and a half south of the town, but never showed up. He was reported missing the next day.

Hickey is described as Caucasian, 5’10” and 145 pounds with a slim build. He has grey hair and a grey moustache and is believed to be driving a green 2001 Subaru Forester with BC licence plate BB286T.

There’s concern for his well being so police ask anyone who’s spoken to Hickey or who knows where he is to contact the Grande Prairie detachement or Crime Stoppers.
