2day FM Cares for Kids Radiothon raising funds for neonatal cribs

The third annual 2day FM Cares for Kids Radiothon is being held Thursday in Grande Prairie. 2day FM is hoping to raise more than $17,000 for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation in order to purchase four neonatal cribs.

They are used so twins can sleep together, which is a widely accepted practice in NICUs. Co-bedding helps babies conserve body heat and regulate body temperature, and helps them settle better as they seem to comfort each other. 26 sets of twins were born in Grande Prairie last year, including five sets in one weekend in October.

Anyone who would like to make a donation to the Cares for Kids Radiothon can do so by visiting the 2day FM team from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Prairie Mall, calling 780-538-7583, or at supportyourhospital.ca. Donations of more than $25 will come with a tax receipt.
