68th Avenue reopens to four-lane traffic

For the first time since May, traffic can use 68th Avenue between Poplar Drive and 100th Street. The section has been four-laned, and there are two new lanes between 108th Street and Kateri Drive.

However, there are a few temporary transition areas drivers should look out for. The two new lanes will be back to two-way traffic between Kateri Drive and 100th Street. Traffic will also be down to one lane eastbound through the intersection, and concrete barriers are separating traffic.

The speed limit in those sections is 30 kilometres an hour in the meantime. Drivers can also expect single-lane closures while ATCO Electric installs street lights until mid-November.

Work on the bridge started in February and will continue as long as the weather will allow. Anything unfinished will wrap up next year, along with the rest of the work on 68 Avenue. The pedestrian trail under the bridge will reopen in the second week of November.
