$150K worth of drug and cash seized from two Grande Prairie homes

More than a kilogram of cocaine has been seized from two homes in Grande Prairie. After a month-long investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams’ organized crime and gang team, the houses were searched on October 13th.

An estimated $150,000 worth of drugs and cash were seized, which also included nearly 150 fentanyl pills, 155 grams of marijuana, and 175 milliletres of GHB. Officers also found two body armour vests and more than $56,000 in cash proceeds of crime.

Grande Prairie RCMP Superintendent Don McKenna calls this a significant seizure that will have an effect on the local drug trade.

“The seizure and the disruption of this criminal group will help to reduce the negative community impact created by the local drug trade. This seizure highlights the importance of a coordinated provincial effort to stem the movement and sale of controlled substances.”
