City crews started working on clearing roads early this morning.
Mayor Bill Given says there were 3 truck plow and sanding units sent out early Friday morning.
Transportation Services Manager Robert Carroll says their focus is on icy intersections. He says sanders are out and if needed, they are going to work through the night and through the weekend.
A decision will be made by the end of the business day on whether the crews will begin to plow main roads with graders and loaders. Carroll says if they begin the work now, this would be earlier than their set start date of October 30th.
Plowing would be done on residential streets after priority streets and bus routes are complete. The snow clearing is done the day before garbage day in each neighbourhood.
