Work continues on downtown upgrades

Work on the downtown rehabilitation project has been underway for two months now, and the City claims progress is moving along steadily.

So far, crews have installed new sewer and storm infrastructure along 101st Street next to Revolution Place, as well as an east/west water connection along 99th Avenue. A new waterline has been connected to the area, and ATCO Gas has replaced a line at the same time.

Project technologist Conor Coney says they’re now working on the sewer, sanitary and water facilities on 101st Street between 99th Avenue and 100th, and will get to underground work at the intersection of 101st and 101st. All businesses downtown remain open during construction.
