Peace River North MLA charged with assault

Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm has been charged with assault. After Pimm revealed last month he was stepping down from the B.C. Liberal caucus over unspecified allegations, the provincial Criminal Justice Branch appointed a special prosecutor to his case.

Michael Klein has since approved a charge of assault, which allegedly happened on August 13th in Dawson Creek. No further details on the incident have been released.

Back in 2011, a special prosecutor decided against laying any charges after a domestic incident that involved Pimm’s wife. He announced last November that he would not be seeking re-election in May 2017.

Pimm will appear in court on Tuesday.
