Tools for School collects over $21,000 in school supplies

The annual stuff the bus event put on by the United Way Alberta Northwest collected over $21,000 in school supplies.

The Tools for School event is used to make sure that kids in the community have basic school supplies. School supply filled backpacks are collected by various businesses which included High Volt Safety, Telus, Staples and Costco this year.

There were $21,000 in backpacks filled at Staples with around 300 backpacks from Costco on Tuesday morning.

United Way Executive Director Brenda Yamkowy says that these items will go to places all around the city as well as the county. There has even been requests put in by schools in High Prairie.
