Over the past year, the amount of commercial space sitting empty has increased. Last year, vacancy rates for the 104 office buildings was 4.92 while this year it sits at 6.36. Most of these spaces are from the new Sterling Professional Centre and 214 Place North.
The industrial sector has more than doubled since 2015. There are several large buildings sitting empty including the Stellar Building which was built in 1977.
Retail buildings are also up one per cent from last year.
