One of the big three telecommunications companies will be investing another large chunk of change in the Grande Prairie area this year.
Telus has plans to spend $6 Million upgrading wireless coverage, and expanding their optic TV for more local residences.
Chris Gerritsen, a Senior Communications Manager with Telus, says they will also be upping wireless capacity in the region.
“Capacity is very important because more and more people are using smart phones these days and they are very, very data heavy devices. So we need to ensure that we have enough capacity on our wireless sites so people can use these devices as they’re intended.”
Gerritsen says work has already begun, and will wrap up closer to the end of the year.
