Change of garbage placement sparks social media complaints

The drive thru garbage and recycling cans at Tim Hortons were recently moved to a different location and complaints have been popping up on social media.

The company declined an interview but says they made the changes to their units to improve their waste diversion program. They add that the placement of the bins after the drive thru is to provide their guests with enough time to sort their materials in their quick moving drive thru lanes.

There has been photos posted online of garbage piling up at Grande Prairie locations of old cups and other garbage that customers were used to throwing out before they arrived at the window. There has also been people defending the change with recommendations to throw their garbage out at their own homes.
