The province is beefing up inspections of residential worksites for the rest of the summer. Occupational Health and Safety officers will be checking out more construction sites on weekends and outside regular working hours to make sure workplace safety regulations are being followed.
Those officers can issues stop orders and write tickets for non-compliance issues on the spot. In total, 1,600 were issued between last April 1st of 2015 and March 31st of this year. More than half were related to fall protection.
