Someone spotted stealing recycling blue bags

Reports of someone collecting blue bags that were out for curbside collection Wednesday led City Enforcement Services to issue a BOLO Alert. Aquatera Recycling Manager Amy Horne says they were able to figure out right away that this person in a white truck wasn’t an Aquatera, Green for Life or Prairie Disposal employee.

While the person could have just been looking for refundable items, Horne warns that they could also have been trying to get personal documents. She recommends that all residents shred anything with sensitive information and keep deposit items out of their blue bags.

To help, a shred it day will be held on May 10th. Anyone caught taking or rummaging through waste containers and bags out for pick up could be fined.
