One of the five fire stations in the County each year is chosen to give the necessary training to become firefighters.

During the celebration, the Federal Exemplary Award was given for 20 years of service to Deputy Fire of Rural Operations Chief Dan Verdun. The Alberta Emergency Services medals went to Captain of Bezanson Station Harold Bulford and firefighter of the same station Gordon Ford.
There were also 38 firefighters recognized for their years of service at the ceremony.
