Grande Prairie will have its first Montessori school this fall. Montessori Education was developed by Italian educator Dr. Maria Montessori. These types of schools have a child centered approach where they find a balance between freedom and learning in the classroom.
The Parkside Montessori school will be opening in the fall and will be multi-graded and multiaged programming. All educators who will teach at the school will have trained at the North American Montessori Centre.
There will be an information night for parents and community members on March 17th from 6:30pm to 7:15pm. Following the information, there will be registration for new students held in the Parkside Montessori gym until 8:00pm.
There will also be a Twitter Chat held on March 21st for anyone wanting to join the conversation on the new school. It will be using the #ParksideMontessori as the hashtag.
