Grande Prairie Public School District in search of new Superintendent

The Grande Prairie Public School District is on the look-out for their next Superintendent after letting go of their most recent one late 2015. The Public School Board says after the fall review, they decided to go in a different direction which lead to looking for a replacement for Carole Ann MacDonald. In the interim, Deputy Superintendent Sandy McDonald took the responsibilities.

The new leader will take charge of over 8200 students, around 460 teachers and over 300 staff members as well as working with a budget close to 100-million dollars. They will also be taking the position ahead of the opening of the two new Kindergarden to grade 8 schools in 2017. The Board says they will keep the competition open until they find a suitable candidate.
