Armed robbery at Subway on the bypass

The Subway on 117th Avenue in Grande Prairie was hit by an armed robber last night. The robbery happened around 7:45 p.m. as a masked man with a knife jumped over the counter and told an employee to open the till.

Fortunately, the clerk wasn’t hurt but the suspect was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving through the restaurant’s back door. He was last seen running northbound towards ATB Financial.

The man is described as Caucasian, 36 to 38 years old. In addition to a mask, he was wearing all black pants, a jacket and boots. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
