UPDATE: Man dies after severe collision over the weekend

Update: a 20 year old Dawson Creek man has died after a two vehicle collision over the weekend on highway 43. RCMP say a semi truck was traveling westbound on the highway and was turning south onto Range Road 54 when the vehicle collided with a van traveling eastbound. Officers says the 20 year old died at the scene of the accident and was the only person in the vehicle at the time.

RCMP say weather and roads are believed to be a factor in the collision. Officers add the driver of the semi truck was uninjured in the crash.

Update: RCMP say all roads are now reopened. RCMP say a severe collision that happened earlier Saturday had the highway closed.

Update: Grande Prairie RCMP say Highway 43 eastbound lanes, east of Clairmont between range roads 55-53, are closed due to a severe vehicle collision. They say westbound lanes have now reopened. Expect major delays when traveling between range roads 55 and 53.
