Construction kicking off on sections of 100 Avenue, 116 Street

Work is getting underway on sections of 100 Avenue and 116 Street on Thursday.

Construction on 100 Avenue between Range Road 70 East and 108 Street begins kicks off today and is expected to wrap up in early September, weather permitting.

Meanwhile, on 116 Street between 97 Avenue and 124 Avenue, work is scheduled to begin next week, with completion expected by mid-September.

Both projects include asphalt work, storm sewer repairs and refreshed road markings. Traffic will remain open but will be reduced to alternating single lanes in active work zones.

A 30 km/h speed limit will be in effect. Sidewalks, pathways and transit stops will remain open, although transit riders should expect possible delays.

Drivers are being asked to slow down and follow all signage while in the construction areas.
