Man who robbed Mac’s with fake gun sentenced

A man who robbed a Grande Prairie convenience store in late 2014 will spend another two years in jail. Then-39 year old Patrick Edward Tysson was arrested on November 20th, five days after the Mac’s on 100th Street and 105th Avenue was held up.

RCMP reported that around 7:45 p.m. the suspect told the cashier he was robbing her and threatened to shoot her with what looked like a hand gun. He made off with a small amount of cash.

Tysson has plead guilty to robbery with a firearm and using an imitation firearm, as it turns out the weapon was fake. He was sentenced Monday to two years and six weeks, after credit for time served. He also received a 10 year firearms prohibition.
