County releases 2025 annual report

County of Grande Prairie has released numerous statistics as part of their 2025 annual report.

In the report, it outlined numerous key items that the county council worked on in 2025.

According to the report, approximately $58.9 million was invested in the transportation network, including $37.2 million for capital road and bridge projects, with 70 per cent of the capital budget directed to roads and bridges.

In 2025, more than $10 million in grants and contributions supported local organizations, recreation, social programs, and regional partnerships.

The population from across the county also grew as well, as the county reached a population of 26,701 which is an increase of over 11 per cent since 2021.

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership was activated twice in 2025 in response to wildfire events, while ongoing investments in FireSmart programming, emergency communications, and fire services strengthened regional readiness.

“The past year was one of growth, collaboration, and progress,” says Reeve Amanda McDonald. “We have continued to focus on what matters most to residents, safe communities, strong infrastructure, and sustainable growth, while working together as a region to deliver results.”
