Reeve, Deputy Reeve acclaimed in County of Grande Prairie

The County of Grande Prairie have acclaimed Councillor Amanda McDonald as Reeve and Councillor Bob Chrenek as Deputy Reeve for the next year.

During the October 19 county council meeting, council acclaimed and passed that Division 1 Councillor Amanda McDonald will serve as Reeve and Division 9 Councillor Bob Chrenek will serve as Deputy Reeve.

Chrenek says that serving as Deputy Reeve is an opportunity to continue working with council to help support the needs of communities and residents.

“I value the perspectives residents bring forward and the opportunity to work together on practical solutions that strengthen our communities.”

McDonald says that every decision that council makes has an impact on the people who call the county home.

“I look forward to building on the work already underway, listening to our residents and working with my fellow Councillors to address the opportunities and challenges facing our growing region.”

McDonald has served on County Council as the Division 1 Councillor since 2021, and was first elected Reeve in October of last year.

Chrenek also joined council in 2021, and was first elected Deputy Reeve last October and will continue to represent Division 9.

Council holds an organizational meeting every October to elect a Reeve and Deputy Reeve, as well as to appoint members of Council to committees.
