The 5th annual 104.7 The Goat and 96.3 Sun FM sock drive has kicked off, with the previous donation record already being broken.
The former 2Dayfm campaign has now transitioned into the two new Grande Prairie stations. Through the entire month of January, the Goat and Sun FM will be taking donations of new, unused pairs of socks that will end up to those in need at the Wapiti House and the Saint Lawrence Centre.
In 2025, the campaign saw a record of 3010 pairs donated, beating the previous record of 2742 pairs. However, in 2026 that has already been doubled, with Value Village donating 6,490 at the start of the campaign.
Vista Radio Grande Prairie General Manager Caralee Parr has seen the campaign grow since it’s inception, and says it represents how giving the community really is.
“It is fantastic to see, and it shows once again how generous this community really is. It never fails to blow my mind how generous people are here,” she said.
Donations can be dropped off at the 104.7 The GOAT.
