Two people are having a slew of charges after Mounties in Grande Prairie seized approximately $120,000 in stolen goods.
Police say it all started on November 13th, after authorities received a call from the public after a citizen saw a reported stolen vehicle. The RCMP says vehicle was leaving a rural property a short time later, and authorities were able to stop the vehicle thanks to a deployed tire deflation device.
After reportedly fleeing on foot, police eventually caught and arrested two men who were initially in the vehicle.
The arrest resulted in a search warrant being executed on the property, were authorities found and seized an estimated $120,000 worth of stolen vehicles, including a GMC cube van, a Jeep, a side by side, and a towable light tower.
As a result, a 29 year-old from Grande Prairie and a 27 year-old of no fixed address were both charged with possession of property obtained by crime, with future charges pending as a result of the search warrant. The 29 year-old received an additional charge for breaching the conditions of a release order.
The Grande Prairie resident will appear in court on Tuesday, November 18th, and the 27 year-old has been released and will appear in court on December 8th.
