Car involved in fatal collision drifted across centre line

Drugs or alcohol aren’t believed to be factors in a Highway 40 crash that claimed a life Monday afternoon. Emergency responders were called to the scene 60 kilometres south of Grande Prairie around 12 p.m.

There had been a serious head on collision between a car and a tractor trailer, and the man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. As next of kin has yet to be notified, police have not released the identity of the deceased.

RCMP says the northbound car drifted across the centre line into the southbound lane. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
