Police seeking suspect in armed robbery of Avondale convenience store

Another convenience store in Grande Prairie has been robbed at knife point. On Tuesday afternoon around 2 RCMP were called to a report of an armed robbery at the Avondale Convenience store.

Police say the suspect had entered the location, walked behind the cashier’s counter, threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and then left. No one was hurt in the incident. He is described as Caucasian, mid 20’s to early 30’s, wearing a grey hoodie, a dark vest, dark sunglasses, blue jeans, and blue gloves. The suspect also bears a close resemblance to the man seen in surveillance videos of the previous robbery at the store on October 12.

Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. If you have any information about the man or the robbery you are asked to contact the local detachment or Crime Stoppers.

This is the third armed robbery at the Avondale Convenience Store in a span of 6 weeks.
