Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention officials thank Executive Director Williams following resignation announcement

The Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention Board of Directors has announced the resignation of Executive Director Hywel Williams.

Williams’ colleagues say he was “instrumental” in elevating the organization to new heights during his time. The organization says Williams is responsible for attaining Accreditation Canada’s Accreditation with Commendation standard, which led to the establishment of the GP Men’s Shed, and the expansion of the RCSP into a new office in Grimshaw.

Additionally, Williams and his team of RCSP staff and volunteers hosted the 2024 “Chair Extraordinaire” event, which is described as the organization’s most successful fundraiser to date.

This year, the RCSP also received the 2024 Chamber of Commerce Greatest Impact Award, which they say is a direct reflection of Williams’ and the rest of the RCSP team’s hard work throughout the year.

The organization maintains they are “deeply grateful” for his contributions, and have already begun the search for Williams’ replacement.

His resignation will be in effect as of December 13th of this year.
