There is now a second child psychiatrist operating out of Grande Prairie. Alberta Health Services has recruited Dr. Daisy Ann Jabido-Artuz, who began working out of the Nordic Court earlier this month.
She is also providing care at the QEII Hospital. Dr. Daisy came to Canada from the Philippines where she studied and earned her medical training. She will be working with Grande Prairie’s other child psychiatrist, Dr. Ayotunde Kafi, in supporting the student health program that operates in area school districts.
She will also be working with a youth crisis transition therapist who supports children and youth mental health patients at the QEII emergency department.
