UPDATE: Valleyview RCMP say one person is dead following a crash earlier this morning. The collision happened shortly before 9 am on Highway 49 north of Township Road 714.
The crash reportedly involved a semi and a one ton pick up truck. No one else was injured as a result of the collision. Traffic is still moving slowly through the area.
Police say the name of the lone victim is not be released as this time as they are still in the process of notifying next of kin.
Valleyview RCMP say Highway 49 north of that community has been shut down this morning due to a multi-vehicle collision. The closure is just north of Township Road 714. Traffic is not being allowed through in either direction.
STARS Air Ambulance has been dispatched for a scene call emergency in the Valleyview area as well.
