A de-energized powerline in the water at Peace River crossing has ATCO Electricity urging boaters to avoid the area.
In a social media post, the electricity company says the large steel cable in the river could be a potential safety hazard to boaters. The powerline is three kilometres downstream from the Many Islands campground and 23 kilometres east of Silver Valley.
According to ATCO, there are no reports of the downed powerline causing disruption to energy service in the area, and crews are working on repairing the line.
