A Grande Prairie woman has a half million reasons to smile after winning a $500,000 jackpot from a Daily Grand ticket. Beverly Henry says she was in tears when she realized she had taken home the half-million dollar jackpot from the May 15th draw.
“Oh my God, I could not believe it!” she says she yelled while claiming her prize. “I took the ticket to my manager to make sure I was right,” she continues. “It’s the most amazing feeling!”
Henry says she is still coming to terms with how to spend the small fortune, but she certainly has a couple of pretty practical ideas.
“I’m going to pay some bills and share some of the money with my family,” she said. “But the majority of it will go in the bank.”
Henry purchased her winning ticket from Fas Gas on 100 Avenue in Grande Prairie.
