UPDATE: The Explosive Disposal Unit has determined the device is not an explosive device and the scene is safe. The report first came in around 12:30 p.m. Saturday and an investigation continues.
The RCMP has thanked the public for avoiding the area.
Grande Praire RCMP has blocked off an area of Mission Heights due to a report of a suspicious device. The scene is in the 103 block of Kateri Drive, west of Mission Heights Drive.
The area has been contained and public access has been blocked. People are asked to avoid the area until further notice while the Explosive Disposal Unit responds.
