One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a reported explosion, and subsequent fire at a west end Grande Prairie shop.
The Grande Prairie Fire Department says they were called to the scene at approximately 6 a.m. Friday, and upon arrival the fire was active in one area of the shop, and despite difficulty in fighting the blaze, crews were able to limit the damage to that one area of the structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the City of Grande Prairie Fire Marshal.
