92 Street construction expected to kick off Tuesday

Drivers are being reminded that construction on 92 Street between 92 Avenue and 100 Avenue is set to begin on Tuesday.

The city says the work will consist of milling the existing road surface and placing a new pavement surface, as well as spot replacing concrete curb and sidewalks, and re-establishing road line markings and crosswalk lines; and landscaping.

Project Engineer Daniel Dawson says keeping the public informed about the upcoming construction is of utmost importance to the municipality.

“By providing timely and comprehensive updates, we aim to foster a strong partnership with our community, ensuring that everyone remains aware and prepared for the changes that lie ahead,” he adds.

Traffic is expected to be maintained throughout the construction period, but occasional lane restrictions will be put in place, and the speed limit will be reduced to 30 kilometres an hour during construction. Construction zones will be active from Monday to Saturday, with work expected to be completed before mid-August.
