Thursday morning collision on Highway 43 sends one person to hospital with serious injuries

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating a collision early Thursday morning that sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.

According to RCMP around 8:00 a.m. on June 22nd officers, along with fire and EMS, responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 43 between Range Road 65 and Range Road 70.

Officials say early into the investigation it appears an SUV had been travelling eastbound on Highway 43 when it struck a deer and pulled to the side of the road when another car travelling eastbound struck the back of the SUV. Police say the driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries. while the driver of the SUV suffered minor ones.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was brought in to help police continue to investigate the collision.
