During the re-entry into the Town of Fox Creek a RCMP Special Tactical Operations unit member used their Emergency Medical Response Team qualifications to help a resident experiencing medical distress.
According to officials officers were alerted of the situation at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday May 25th while they were in the area helping local RCMP with the towns re-entry. Due to both the hospital in Fox Creek being in the middle of re-opening and EMS not being available the officer with the assistance of a Primary Care Paramedic/Volunteer fire fighter were able to provide the individual with primary care.
According to police EMRT or police medics have been around since 1990, and are trained in International Trauma Life Support, First Responder, AED, IV therapy and symptom relief.
