RCMP looking for suspect involved in several doorbell camera thefts

Peace Regional RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person involved in a stream of thefts on May 6th. According to officials on Saturday police responded to several reports of doorbell cameras and other outdoor cameras being cut down from homes and property damage being the result of the camera thefts. According to RCMP, the incidents happened in the area of 94th Street, 96th Street, and 77th Avenue in Peace River.

RCMP obtained surveillance footage and hope someone in the community might recognize the individual. The suspect is described as having a light to medium skin tone, wearing a red hoodie with a logo on the front and a grey toque. The suspect was also carrying a tool which is described as possibly being a knife.

Anyone in the community who may have been affected by this incident is encouraged to report it to RCMP. Those in the community are also being asked to look at their doorbell cameras or outdoor footage from May 6th, between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m. and send any footage they feel may be of some assistance to police.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
