Charges laid in connection to firearm related incident near Grimshaw

A 26-year-old man is facing several charges in connection to a firearm-related incident near Grimshaw earlier this week.

Grimshaw RCMP says they received a report of a man with a firearm making threats in a rural area near Grimshaw on May 3rd. During the search, which included the RCMP K-9 unit, police advised residents between Grimshaw and Roma to shelter in place.

The RCMP Police Dog was able to track the suspect on Wednesday afternoon, and he was taken into custody without further issue. 26-year-old Hayes Dale Robert Fuller-Grand of no fixed address is now facing a slew of charges, including assault, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Fuller-Garand was remanded in custody and will next appear in a Peace River court on May 8th.
