County crime spree ends in arrests

Two people have been arrested after a crime spree that led police on a chase through the County of Grande Prairie last Tuesday. RCMP first heard of a Polaris RZR being stolen from La Glace, but the thieves had fled. They then got a complaint about an ATV near Clairmont, along with several others about stolen or suspicious vehicles.

With the help of Police Dog Services, officers from Beaverlodge and GP were able to find 25 year old Devon Ronald Cissell of Edmonton and 29 year old Kylie Gail Frankie Fickell of Edson. They’re both now facing charges of theft connected to stolen property from Two Hills, Thorsby, Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, and Dawson Creek, B.C.

Among the items recovered are seven vehicles, one trailer, one ATV and numerous other smaller items. Cissell is facing 31 charges, while Cissell is facing 22. They have both been taken into custody “to protect the public.”

Police have thanked the public for reporting info to RCMP, arguing that without their help, the crime spree would likely still be going.
