Multiple fires were started in a boarded up structure and detached garage in the College Park area this morning.
The Grande Prairie Fire Department responded just before 5:30 a.m. to the area of 104th Street and 104th Avenue. They were able to contain the fire to the home it started it, and none of the 13 firefighters were injured.
The cause of the blaze is now under investigation, but the morning’s events have prompted a warning from the fire department. Drivers are reminded not to drive over any fire hoses that may be on the ground, after a high volume supply line was destroyed by civilian vehicles.
