Road ban in effect for City gravel roads

Road bans on gravel roads in the City of Grande Prairie are in effect until further notice. All gravel roads in the city will are at 75 per cent axle weight between 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Transportation Director for the city Wade Nellis says implementing road bans highlights the importance of maintaining the longevity of the city’s infrastructure.

“By implementing these restrictions, we can ensure that our gravel roads remain in good condition for all residents and visitors.”

A full list of roads affected by the ban can be found on the city’s website. Road bans in the M.D. of Greenview went into effect on March 27th, while road bans in the County of Grande Prairie also went into effect on April 3rd.
