A 59-year-old women has died after succumbing to her injuries following a shooting at a home on Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
According to RCMP around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday they received reports of a shooting at a residence on the nation. Monday morning Valleyview RCMP confirmed to MyGrandePrairieNow.com that officers remain on scene and the RCMP Major Crimes unit has been called in.
The RCMP Major Crimes unit has taken over the investigation and officials say though early in the investigation it is believed to be an isolated incident.
