Canada-wide warrant issued for human trafficking suspect with ties to Grande Prairie

A man with ties to Grande Prairie is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant under suspicion of human trafficking. The ALERT Human Trafficking and Counter Exploitation Unit says 30-year-old Tevin Laramee-Watson has recently lived in Calgary and also has connections to Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Grande Prairie.

Laramee-Watson is facing 10 criminal charges, including two counts of human trafficking, two counts of financial benefit from human trafficking, two counts of communication for the purpose of obtaining the sexual services of a person, and two counts of advertising an offer to provide sexual services for consideration. He is also charged with uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm.

ALERT says its investigation began in February 2021 and alleges Laramee-Watson has exploited women for financial benefit from sexual services and assaulted and threatened one of his victims. It’s reported multiple survivors have been identified so far.

“We want to ensure this perpetrator is located and placed in custody and we are asking for the public’s help in locating him,” says Staff Sergeant Colleen Bowers of ALERT Calgary. “Our greatest concern is that more women, in different cities, could be victimized.”
