A new school will be built in northwest Grande Prairie, with room for up to 700 students.
Premier Alison Redford made the announcement this morning at St. Clement School, alongside local MLAs.
The Catholic school will house kindergarten to grade nine students in the Royal Oaks community.
It will be the 50th new school under the Building Alberta Plan.
Peace Wapiti Public School Division has confirmed two of the children injured in the school bus crash near Beaverlodge Tuesday were sent to hospital in Edmonton for further treatment.
In total, 10 of the 11 students on board were taken to hospital with various injuries.
Some have since been released. Previous reports indicated there were 12 students.
The bus driver and the driver of the semi truck that hit the bus were not seriously injured.
The crash occured at Township Road 722 and Highway 723 around 4 p.m.
Police investigation continues, although drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as factors.
