Substance use/Abuse Stigmas

Typanga (they/she) is the Community Educator & LGBTQ2S+ Support at Northreach Society working towards prevention and education so that everyone can be as safe as possible. She was born and raised in Grande Prairie and studied Gender and Indigenous Studies while attending the University of Victoria. She enjoys reading, rugby, and spending time with their family.

Substances & Harm Reduction: This presentation provides a basic introduction to what substances are and how they affect our bodies and minds; various harm reduction practices; and challenges the stigma we carry around stigma and what to do differently. This session gives us the proper tools to have the resources available for our coworkers or employees if needed.
