Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal Ceremony and Tea

The City of Grande Prairie, the Community Foundation of Northwest Alberta, the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre, the Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteer Organizations, the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation and the United Way Alberta Northwest have been invited by the Government of Alberta to recognize individuals with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medals.The Platinum Jubilee Medal is a new commemorative medal created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.
The overall purpose of the medal program is to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the province or a particular region or community. The medal honours the Queen and her lifelong service to Canada by acknowledging residents of Alberta who, like Her Majesty, have devoted their lives to making this province a better place.
Each organization has submitted nominations to the Government of Alberta and together are hosting a medal ceremony and tea acknowledging the chosen recipients and celebrating the life of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Community members are welcome to attend The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal Ceremony & Tea, hosted by the above-mentioned organizations, on December 14th, at 1:30 pm at Teresa Sargent Hall – 9839 103 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB.
