Peace Region IDPD Planning Committee’s Presentation of the Inclusive Community Award

The Peace Region International Day of Persons with Disabilities Planning Committee (formerly known as the Grande Prairie IDPD Planning Committee) has selected the theme: Not All Disabilities Are Visible.It is a reminder that not all disabilities can be seen such as mental illness, chronic pain, diabetes, anxiety disorder, cognitive delays and so on. The 2021 Inclusive Community Award will be presented December 10, 2021 to a community member, organization, or group that has demonstrated dedication, inclusive approaches, or an innovative way to reach and offer supports to persons with disabilities.
The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed in 1992 on December 3, by the United Nations General Assembly. It aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Deadline for nominations is November 15, 2021.
