Creating a Home

A home is essential to everyone’s well-being. It offers solace, a place to belong, comfort, security, pride, where friends need no invitation. Unfortunately, many individuals with developmental disabilities do not have the opportunity for a real home. Creating a true home begins with understanding an individual at their core, discovering what they value in life, and identifying the steps to reach the desired outcome.
The session will cover:

Developing a vision for a home of one’s own
Means to home ownership
Examples of ways people are supported in their home

Families and FMS staff are encouraged to attend.
