Slices for Smiles campaign wrapping up

There are just a few days left to contribute to Pizza 73’s Slices for Smiles fundraiser. Ending on May 10th, the pizza chain is selling nine inch pizzas topped with a pepperoni smile for just $4.99, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Children’s Miracle Network. Chief Marketing Officer Pat Finelli says the choice to start the campaign six years ago was a natural one.

“Because it’s something that we like to do, and that’s give back to the community. We feels kids are our future at Pizza 73 and every kid loves pizza. Sunday is also Mother’s Day, so you can get mom a heart-shaped pizza and then get the kids a nine inch smiling pepperoni pizza. So everyone’s happy and you feel good about it that you’re giving back.”

Since it started, more than $1.6 million has been raised for hospitals like the Stollery in Edmonton. The goal is to pass $2 million this year.
